Hello! My name is Jivan RamjiSingh, and I'm pursuing degrees in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity. I have an extensive background in technology, specifically scripting, Linux, and computer hardware.
Work Experience
Cybersecurity Intern
Ernst & Young
As a cybersecurity intern, I was assigned to the team working towards improving the OT security for an engagement with an international beverage company. In my role, I focused on reviewing client documentation regarding network topology and devices that I used to generate reports about the information in the documents to management for their review. I also assisted in the organization of information to be presented for the client to have a better understanding of the engagement timeline.
Director of Information Technology
University at Albany Student Association
Designed and implemented a complete overhaul of the Student Association website, which required collaboration with the Student Association President. Through the website, I was able to increase the transparency of the Student Association tremendously by making it possible, for the first time, for students to have easy access to the meeting minutes, agenda, and meeting time/zoom links for the Student Association. The website was designed to be the central information hub for the students, conveying important information about resources available to them via the student association.
Cybersecurity Student Consultant
Ernst & Young
In a simulated financial cybersecurity engagement, I worked with a team of four other individuals to create a process for the evaluation and management of cyber risks associated with the activities of the client. This also required the proposal of controls to the client for implementation in order to minimize their risk exposure.
Teaching Assistant
University at Albany School of Business
As a teaching assistant, I served as a resource for students taking the programming for analytics course at UAlbany to utilize outside of the classroom for additional assistance with the course materials. My responsibilities included hosting office hours for the students to come to me with any questions that they had about the material, grading submitted assignments, and providing feedback on any errors or faults I found in submitted code.
Digital Forensics Student Ambassador
University at Albany
Selected to participate in a competitive digital forensics program to serve as a class of 2022 representative for the Department of Information Security & Digital Forensics for both on campus and off-campus events. In this role, I developed a website to be used by students attending our semi-annual career fair to receive information pertinent to the event. Additionally, I wrote a bash script to generate a PDF book of student resumes to be provided to the employers attending the event.
Research Assistant
Majumdar Lab, University at Albany
Working in a research lab focused on IoT security, specifically in the smart home, I designed and implemented empirical methods of recording and analyzing sensor data for verification purposes. Additionally, I developed a virtualized IoT device for use in a honeypot for analysis on how real-life attacks on IoT devices take place.
Cyber Threat Analyst
IQ4
Working on a team with five other students, we developed a cyber threat plan and response plan to a simulated ransomware worst-case scenario, in accordance with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. This included reading memorandums from management, preparing statements, and continual editing of the finalized response plan.
